1 Simple Thing Action
Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle, then write two different rules on each side. For example: On one side write, “I’ll never have chocolate again.” On the other side write something like, “I’ll only have 5 oz. of chocolate in any given calendar week.” Then play a game with yourself where you imagine your future and ask yourself what your future will look like in a year if you were to comply completely. Compare and contrast those two futures.
The goal is to see which rule helps us control our inner saboteur better, and not allow for the loopholes or excuses that it will inevitably find in those rules.
