Identify your single most troublesome trigger food and/or eating behavior.

Episode 547: Silencing Your Inner Saboteur

1 Simple Thing Action:
Decide what you’d like to call your inner saboteur (Glenn calls his the “Inner Pig.”) Make it a name that is repulsive to you, so when you hear it’s voice, you’ll recognize it with disgust.

Then imagine you could utterly and completely get your inner saboteur out of the way for a full year. What would life be like after one year? Let yourself dream and create a compelling future that helps you ignore and silence the inner saboteur.

Episode 548: Creating a Ridiculously Simple Food Plan

1 Simple Thing Action:
Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle, then write two different rules on each side. For example: On one side write, “I’ll never have chocolate again.” On the other side write something like, “I’ll only have 5 oz. of chocolate in any given calendar week.” Then play a game with yourself where you imagine your future and ask yourself what your future will look like in a year if you were to comply completely. Compare and contrast those two futures.

The goal is to see which rule helps us control our inner saboteur better, and not allow for the loopholes or excuses that it will inevitably find in those rules.

Episode 549: Building Powerful Food Rules

1 Simple Thing Action:
Create ONE simple, crystal clear, unambiguous Food Rule you’d like to follow and listen for your “Inner Pig’s” effort to sabotage you. Consider the four types of food rules you can use to address your most troublesome trigger foods and eating behaviors.
